MOTIVATION

“Success isn't how far you got, but the distance you traveled from where you started.” Pre

Most people never run far enough on their first wind to find out they've got a second. Give your dreams all you've got and you'll be amazed at the energy that comes out of you. - William James

ABOUT ME

Ashley Renee Perry- That's me! I am a 23 year old recently graduate college student from the University of Oregon who like most, still doesn't really know what to do with her life. I love to read I love to run, and love to write in my blogs. Yes, blogs, plural. This is my running blog, something I have recently gotten more motivated and more into doing. I have always had a passion for staying fit and healthy but never took the next step to challenge myself. Untl now.

After graduating college, I was rather undecided about life, myself, and the point behind all that money, time and energy I spent at University. What to do now? Well I packed up somethings and along with my boyfriend we traveled around Europe.

We were able to see some fascinating things, meet some incredible people, and have the adventure of a lifetime.  But that's all irrelevant to my running blog. You can read more about my adventures in Europe as well as in Turkey (which is part of Europe still but I am working rather then backpacking.) here. Ashleyrperry

Being over in another country away from all my friends and family can be a daunting and scary thing. I soon realized that there was some kind of void that needed to be filled. Something felt like it was missing. It hit me one snowy morning here in Istanbul that I needed to start running again. That first brisk morning run is unforgettable. I still remember the euphoric feeling that I had found something for the void. I had found a way to keep me motivated and positive through all the homesick times, the stressful times, and the "omg I just ate 3 bowls of pasta" times.

So it begins, I now have 3 loves to use in my down time, reading, writing, and running. I feel remarkably lucky for the things that life has thrown my way. I feel extremely proud of myself for the things I have chosen to do. Most of all I am thankful for the opportunity to live, laugh, and continuously learn.
